Summer vacations are finally here. To enjoy and learn at the same time, you can apply for a two-week certificate course in management in the Singapore or London campus of Amity University. The programme (to be offered for the first time) is open for school and college students. All you need is to be a student of a school or college and above 16 years of age.

“The entire two-week programme aims to equip students with a basic knowledge of management and foreign culture. They will visit corporate offices, university campuses and tourist destinations on this trip. Students can utilise the summer vacations in a constructive way through experiential learning and gaining a foreign perspective in two weeks. They will get to attend lectures by British faculty members who teach at the Amity campuses in London and Singapore,” says Atul Chauhan, chancellor, Amity University.

Since this course is open to everyone, how will it stand to benefit students who don’t wish to make a career in management?

“Management is needed at every level across all disciplines. It doesn’t matter whether you are studying English or engineering,” adds Chauhan.

Those who love to travel can enjoy an ecological trip to Ladakh in June. Organised by Signpost, the trip aims to make travellers aware of the adverse effects of travelling to a tourist destination. “When we travel to a place, we pollute the surroundings and its air. In this trip, we will try and look for environment friendly alternatives. There are organisations that work in this field in Ladakh. We will meet them and hold sessions to hammer out solutions to address environmental issues. The idea is to leave the least impact possible on the area we visit (Ladakh in this case),” says Vinod Sreedhar, who has been organising such trips to J & K since 2007.

Those inclined towards writing can work as an intern at The Viewspaper. It’s open to all those who are studying in schools, colleges or young professionals working in various companies. It’s a programme that you can pursue from anywhere in the world as long as you have an Internet connection.
