Check this column of information and update yourself with the cutoffs of the top b-schools in the country.

Cutoff refers to the minimum percentile or the score of the MBA entrance exam which is required in order to get shortlisted by the top B-schools. In most of the B-schools, you can be shortlisted with 75 percentile or 80 percentile score.

The MBA entrance exams are on the roll and the base for MBA admissions 2012 has been already created. To get a call from the top 10 B-school in the country, it is not mandatory to score more than 90 percentile. Some of the B-schools also shortlist students with 75 percentile or 80 percentile score.

The table reveals that most of the b-schools have average cutoff ranging from 70 to 85 percentile. One should always remember that cutoff is not the only criterion of selection process. Overall profile and background of students plays a vital role at the time of admission.

Most of the b-schools don't give weightage to cutoff percentile to short list candidates. Instead, they give importance the overall profile and background of the candidates. Such b-schools which follow this practice are IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, Bhubaneswar& Kolkata, TAPMI Manipal, We School Mumbai & Bangalore.
