Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK has partnered with Universal Business School (UBS), Karjat, near Mumbai to launch UK Masters and Bachelor programmes in Business Management in India. With this partnership, UBS will offer Cardiff Metropolitan Undergraduate and Postgraduate Business and Management programmes to students.

As the programmes are the same as those offered on-campus in Cardiff, UBS students will have the advantage of being able to transfer to on-campus study, should they wish to undertake part of their studies at the Cardiff Metropolitan campus. Faculty from Cardiff Metropolitan will keep visiting Universal Business School, to hold training events, to give guest lectures and to meet with staff and students. All programmes will be subject to the university’s quality assurance processes with degrees awarded by Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Speaking of the strategic partnership and subsequent validation of the faculty, infrastructure and systems of UBS by this top ranked UK University, Gurdip Anand, chairman, Universal Business School said, “It is testament to the emphasis we put on quality. Aristotle had said, 'Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education'. At UBS, Karjat we truly follow this maxim by imparting the highest calibre of management thought imbued with experiential learning and liberal education, to build their character and their personality.”

Founded by multinational CEOs, Universal Business School has a fully residential campus in Karjat, 50 miles from Mumbai promising one of the best education infrastructures in India. UBS now joins the global list of established Cardiff Metropolitan University transnational partnerships with organisations including the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Egypt, the LSC Group of Colleges, ICBT in Sri Lanka and the East Asia Institute of Management in Singapore. Cardiff Metropolitan University has one of the most diverse student representations from over 140 countries.

Conveying the excitement around the new partnership, the vice-chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, Professor Antony Chapman said, “This will provide opportunities for staff and student exchanges and will contribute to the internationalisation of the University and to the development of sustainable partnerships with high quality partners internationally.’’
