University of London degrees in India
Centum U, an initiative of Centum Learning, a Bharti associate company, has joined hands with University of London External System to 
bring to India seven undergraduate and two postgraduate programmes. The lead college for the seven undergraduate programmes in economics, finance and management subjects would be London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the Royal Holloway College would be the lead college for the two postgraduate programmes and an undergraduate programme — BSc business administration. The first batch will begin in September 2010. All the courses will be available in four of the five Centum U campuses, all over India, including Delhi.
The UG programmes are BSc in economics, economics and finance, business, economics and management, management, banking and finance and accounting and finance. The PG programmes are MSc in international business and MBA (international management). “The fee structure for an undergraduate programme, with all expenses paid, should be Rs 3.5 lakh and for the Master’s, it would be Rs 5 lakh,” said Sanjeev Duggal, CEO & executive director, Centum Learning. “These would be a full-time regular programmes.”
Prof. Jonathan Kydd, dean, external system, University of London, said, “We make a distinction between the student experience and the standard of the award. There is no difference in the standard of the award between the internal and external students. The difference lies in the student experience.”
