What to Do to Settle Down in International University?
New Delhi, June 16 - Students planning to study in overseas universities might find it hard to get accustomed to new environments. However, a couple of foreign-educated alumni made things simpler for aspirants at an informal interaction held in the Capital on June 13. ne of the panelists, laid emphasis on the importance of orientation. She said, "CMC has a separate international orientation, and that too under the guidance of the parents, and it is a great way to get to know your seniors."
Another topic that was highlighted was "writing your papers". The panelists said that, "you do not have to be a great writer to write papers". What you do need to do is to cite evidence about what you are writing. They added that the best way to resolve any problem is to speak to your tutors. Interacting with your professors can be really helpful. The panelists said that going for club and varsity sports is also important because it helps one settle in the culture and make friends. They added that the students should learn how to cook, and take special care because the weather can get really cold at times.
The event was organised by Arjun Seth, the regional director and senior coach for CollegeSource Consulting which provides guidance for US admissions. The panelists and some particpants were Seth's past and present clients.
