XIME Kochi to be inaugurated on Dec 2
Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore is one of the leading B-schools in South India. Since its inception in 1991, it has been ranked amongst the Top 30 B-schools in India. According to official sources, XIME, Bangalore will be inaugurating its second campus at Kalamassery in Kochi on December 2, 2012.
Professor J Philips, President of XIME, Bangalore says, โWe are expanding our base to reach out to more people and offer them quality management programmes. Our new campus is in Kochi, which is emerging as a hub of management education over the last few years.โ
Kochi or Cochin is catching up as a preferred location with several leading B-schools in India looking forward to expand themselves. In June this year, IIM Kozhikode established its satellite campus at Kochi.
XIME has already initiated a recruitment drive in March for the position of director and senior faculty members of the institute. It is expected that XIME Kochi will start offering management programmes from the next academic year.
When the foundation stone of XIME Kochi was laid at Kinfra Park, Kochi last year, the Chief Minister of Kerala - Shri Oomen Chandy - had expressed hope that the institute would contribute significantly to the higher education scene in Kerala and become a model of high quality institution.
This year, 117 students out of a batch of 134 at XIME Bangalore secured placements. The average salary offered was Rs 6.30 lakh while the higher salary offered was Rs 9.40 lakh.
