XISS invites application for two-year PGDM

The Xavier Institute of Social Science (XISS) has invited application for their two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The programme is approved by AICTE and offers the following specialisations: Human Resource Management, Rural Management, Information Technology, Finance, and Marketing. The last date of submitting application is February 20, 2014. Total number of seats available : 75 each in Human Resource Management and Rural Management, and 60 each in Information Technology, Finance and Marketing specialisations. Fifty per cent seats are reserved for SC/ST and Christian candidates.

Eligibility

According to the official release, “Minimum qualification for admission to the PGDM program at the Institute is three / four years bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognised by Association of Indian Universities with minimum 60% marks (50% for ST/SC candidates) or equivalent grade. However, preference will be given to Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Management and Computer Science graduates and candidates with relevant work experience.

“Candidates appearing for final year or final semester of their graduate degree examination in academic year 2013-14 are also eligible to appear for the admission process. Such candidates, if called for interview, should submit the copy of admit card or a letter from the principal of the college where they are studying to that effect. Such candidates if finally selected at XISS, Ranchi must clear their Graduation examination with minimum 60% marks (50% for ST/SC candidates) or equivalent grade by August 2014.”

Admission

For admission, the institute adopts a three-stage process:

1. All India Management Admission Test (XAT 2014, CAT 2013, CMAT Sept 2013),
2. Group Discussion, and
3. Personal Interview

Candidates will be shortlisted for GD PI rounds based on XAT/CAT/CMAT scores. The GDPI rounds will be held at Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Ranchi from Feb 17 to Mar 9, 2014.

How to Apply 

According to the institute’s official release, “A candidate can apply for maximum any 02 (Two) specializations. The institute will accept only online registrations. Candidates will have to submit separate application for different entrance exams i.e. if a candidate wants to apply through both XAT 2014 and CAT 2013, s/he will have to submit two different online applications at XISS by making separate payments for both the applications.”

The application fee can be paid online via debit card/credit card / net banking or any other online method. The fee can also be paid through bank draft, drawn in favour of ‘Xavier Institute of Social Service’ payable at Ranchi drawn on any bank. The draft needs to be sent within 15 days of application. The candidate must write their name and XAT/CAT/CMAT ID/Roll No on the back of the bank draft.
