XLRI campus placements see high pay packets

Despite global recession, XLRI Jamshedpur campus placement drive proved to be extremely successful this year. One of the leading business schools in India, XLRI managed to place 98% of its passing out batch within first three days of its campus placements this year.
About 73 companies participated in campus placement recruitments at XLRI and extended out 284 job offers to a batch of 235 students. The average domestic salary this year was Rs 16.48 lakh while the median domestic salary was impressive at Rs 15.5 lakh.
The highest domestic salary too increased by Rs 17 lakhs this year to reach the awesome offer of Rs 40 lakh per annum. This offer was extended to a student from human resource management division. The highest international offer of US $ 1,25,000 was made to an XLRI student from personnel management and industrial relations division. was US $ 1,25,000, an increase of US$ 5,000 from last year.
The largest recruiters at XLRI were Goldman Sachs and Airtel that extended 12 job offers each. Other companies that participated in XLRI placements included investment and asset management firms like Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey and Co., Deloitte Consulting and Gallup Consulting; leading marketing companies Unilever, P&G, Johnson & Johnson and GlaxoSmithKline; and tech giants Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart and Redbus.
Other B-schools too seem to have an impressive placement season this year. Indus World School of Business (IWSB) is just four years old in the business and focuses mainly on small and mid-sized emerging and fast growing organizations for its management students. Its strategy proved to be a success when IWSB graduates were offered jobs by several young and dynamic companies like Infoedge, Nettpositive, Netambit, Infoedge, Gaja Capital, and Core Tree. In 2011, highest salary package offered to IWSB graduates was Rs 11.4 lakhs while the average salary package was Rs 5.4 lakhs.
This year, a month before students complete their courses, more than half the batch has already find placements with fast growing start ups as well as well established companies such as Deutsche Bank, Orient Craft, MakeMyTrip, and Cafรฉ Coffee Day.
The final placement process at IIM Ahmedabad has also started. On the very first day of its placements, IIM-A students got offers from global strategy consulting firms and i-Banks, with locations both in India and abroad. The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has already extended offers to 17 students of IIM-A's flagship PGP program.
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) in Pune is also expecting a 10% rise in the number of students getting placed through their campus recruitment drive this year. The MIT School of Business (MITSOB) in Pune has also reported a rise in the number of companies visiting the campus as well as the package offered to students. Read more about campus placements
