MHT - CET on May 10

Conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, MHT CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a premier engineering entrance exam held annually for aspirants seeking admission into various undergraduate degree courses like Health Science, BVSc and Animal Husbandry (AH), Engineering and Pharmacy in the state of Maharashtra. Through the exam, candidates are admitted to all private, government, aided and unaided engineering universities/colleges in the state.
Around 1,34,024 seats in 348 colleges for engineering, 3,905 seats in 60 colleges for health science, and 440 seats in 148 colleges for pharmacy courses are available through MHT CET.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must be an Indian national
- Applicant must have appeared/passed the HSC(Class XII) examination or an equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics scoring at least 50 per cent (50% for open categories and minimum 45% marks for backward class categories)aggregate marks in the PCM combination during the academic year 2011-12
- Applicants appearing for 10+2 examinations in 2011 are also eligible to apply

Syllabus/Pattern:
This single-stage entrance examination is spread over 3 papers. Each paper holds 100 marks and is 1½ hour long.

Wrong answers would not be liable for negative marking. However, there are some important points to be remembered:
- Paper I and Paper II should be necessarily taken by only those who are applying for Health Science courses and B.VSc & AH.
- Paper I and Paper III is for candidates applying for Engineering/Technology degree courses. For applying for a Pharmacy degree course one should appear for Paper I & Paper-II and/or Paper-III.
Paper I and Paper II can be taken in three languages i.e. English, Marathi and Urdu while Paper III is available only in English. The language preference must be mentioned by the candidates in the application form itself and once mentioned it cannot be changed. (Know more)
As far as the syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics papers is concerned, it remains the same as for the HSC examination of HSC Boards of Maharashtra for that particular year. Click here for the application procedure
