AICTE releases important notice for 'Management & ODL institutes' regarding last date of admission

AICTE released an important notice regarding the last date of admission for management and ODL institutes. 

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in its latest notification posted important information directing all the management & ODL institutes to follow the same. According to the notification, the AICTE asked all the management as well as ODL institutes to follow the Academic Calendar as circulated vide notification dated August 13, 2020. The Council also stated that the circular that AICTE released on October 15, 2020, is not applicable to these institutes/ courses. The official notice released by AICTE states, " It is intimated that AICTE vide circular dated 13-08-2020 has issued revised calendar for A/ Y 2020-21. Subsequently vide circular dated 15-10-2020. the last date of admission to all Engineering Courses (Diploma, Diploma lateral entry, UG & PG) was extended to 30-11-2020 except PGDM / PGCM for whom separate dates have been mentioned in revised Academic Calendar for A/ Y 2020-21."

The notice further reads, "instances have been observed that Management and ODL Institutions are also implying the last date of admission as 30-11-2020 while the circular dated 15-10-2020 is only for Engineering Courses (Diploma, Diploma lateral entry, UG & PG).

"In view of the above clarification, all Management and ODL institutes are requested to adhere to the previous academic calendar as circulated vide dated 13-08-2020. The circular dated 15-10-2020 is not applicable to these Institutes/Courses," the notice states. The admission process all across the country is delayed due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by the lockdown imposed in order to contain the deadly virus spread.
