A:

During the COMEDK BArch counselling, the candidates will be allotted seats as per their rank, preferences, category and seat availability. It is important for the candidates to select the correct order of college preference, as it will be considered during the allotment process.

Q:   Can you share information about COMEDK BArch counselling?
A:

COMEDK BArch counselling is a centralised admission process for students seeking seats in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) programs in colleges across Karnataka. Conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), this counselling is based on candidates' scores in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or JEE Main Paper 2 (Architecture).

Key Aspects of COMEDK BArch Counselling
Eligibility: Candidates must have a valid score in NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 and must have completed their 10+2 education with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
Merit-Based Seat Allotment: The counselling process allocates seats based on candidates' ranks derived from their NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 scores, ensuring fair seat distribution based on merit.
Counselling Rounds: COMEDK conducts multiple rounds of counselling, allowing students to select their preferred colleges and courses as per seat availability.
Document Verification: During counselling, candidates must submit various documents (e.g., academic certificates, ID proofs, scorecards) for verification before finalizing admissions.

This counselling process helps streamline admissions for architecture aspirants by centralizing applications to several colleges in Karnataka, simplifying the selection process, and making it more transparent.

Q:   What will happen if I do not get a seat in the first round of COMEDK BArch counselling?
A:

If you don't get a seat in the first round of COMEDK B.Arch. counselling, here's what you can do:

Participate in Subsequent Rounds: COMEDK usually conducts multiple rounds of counselling. If you don't receive a seat in the first round, you can participate in later rounds, where additional seats may become available as other candidates withdraw or adjust their choices.

Modify Preferences: Before the next round, you'll have the opportunity to update or reorder your college and course preferences. Adjusting your choices based on seat availability can improve your chances of getting a seat in the subsequent rounds.

Check for Spot counselling: If seats remain unfilled after the regular counselling rounds, COMEDK may conduct a “spot counselling” or “mop-up round.” This additional round gives candidates another chance to secure a seat.

Stay Informed on Updates: Regularly check the COMEDK portal and official announcements for any updates regarding additional rounds or seat availability, as this information can be crucial for timely participation.

By following these steps and staying proactive, you can maximize your chances of securing a B.Arch. seat in subsequent rounds of COMEDK counselling.
