Bihar government has not given its nod to reopen schools across the states from September 21, as per the Unlock 4.0 guidelines. The state government will take the decision regarding the reopening of schools and colleges today. The state government will plan to reopen schools after preparing the SOP in order to follow COVID19 protocols.

Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Education Department on September 20 said that an internal meeting has been scheduled to be held on September 22 to decide in what phases and manner the school and college will be reopened in the state. “The directors of primary, secondary and higher education and other officials would attend the meeting. The stakeholders will discuss whether to reopen the schools for Classes 9 to 12 or other classes as well,” he said.

Kumar further added that before taking any final decision, the state government will analyze the coronavirus situation and will consult the health department about the reopening of schools and colleges.

Some other school principals said that the routine has also been prepared for the classes. Wearing facemask is a must for school students and all staff in the school. More guidelines will be added after the state government releases the SOPs.

Meanwhile, Bihar Board is conducting the Spot Admissions to class 11 in the state schools and colleges. It has extended the last date for enrollment through spot admission to September 25, 2020. The Board had also extended the last dates to fill the application form with the late fee included for BSEB Intermediate exam 2021.
