As many as 6,083 students in India joined 202,103 students globally in receiving their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) results for the May 2025 examination session, reflecting a 4.8% increase in global participation compared to the previous year.
As per a statement issued by the Board, the IB congratulates all students for their dedication over the two-year DP and CP journey, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and global mindset to thrive in a dynamic world. These graduates now join a community of over 2.7 million IB alumni across 157 countries. The global average DP score for this session was 30.58 points.
Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the International Baccalaureate, praised the students’ resilience and compassion. “IB graduates leave with not just knowledge but the perspective and purpose to lead and shape a better world,” he said.

The DP, offered in 795 Asia-Pacific schools, fosters critical thinking and global perspectives, aligning with local systems while exceeding standards in countries like South Korea, Singapore, and Australia, according to 2023 curriculum studies. A 2021 study also highlighted that DP and CP students exhibit significantly higher global-mindedness than peers.
The May 2025 session saw students complete all assessment components, with grades awarded based on coursework and examinations. An interim statistical bulletin will be released soon.
