CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 Class 12, 10 (Released) @cbse.gov.in LIVE; Official Link, Fees & Process

Every Class 12 subject carries 100 marks, and 33 are needed to pass. The theory and practical split changes by subject:

Knowledge Traditions and Practices of India (073) is open to private candidates in Class 12. The subject carries 70 theory and 30 internal marks.

Some Class 12 languages have two codes, and students can take only one from each pair. All of these are open to private candidates:

Class 12 skill subjects, with codes from 801 to 848, are open only to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement students. Their theory and practical split differs from subject to subject, such as 60 + 40 or 50 + 50.

Fine Arts and Dance subjects are open only to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement students. Each carries 30 theory and 70 practical marks.

Some Class 12 subjects are open only to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement students. These include:

•       Psychology (037)

•       Biotechnology (045)

•       Engineering Graphics (046)

•       Physical Education (048)

•       NCC (076)

Commerce students also have options as private candidates. These subjects are open to them:

Business Administration (833) is open only to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement students. Students can take only one out of 054 and 833.

Most Humanities subjects in Class 12 are open to private candidates. Here are the main ones:

Exemptions for students with disabilities under the RPWD Act, 2016 were explained in a CBSE circular dated April 12, 2019. Students can read it at cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/Examination_Circular/2019/5_CIRCULAR.pdf before applying.

Apart from the helpline, students can contact their CBSE regional office. The jurisdiction and phone numbers of all regional offices are listed at cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/contact-us.html.

Students do not have to surrender the original marksheet and certificate of their previous exam. Keep them safe with you. A new marksheet for 2027 will be issued after the result.

Students must give a correct postal address in the form. For exam centres outside Delhi, the original marksheet and certificate will be sent to this address by Speed Post.

The notice gives four simple steps for the photo upload:

1.     Scan your photo and save it as a JPG file.

2.     Make sure it is passport size and within 40 KB.

3.     Log in through the "Vyaktigat Pariksharthi" link on the CBSE website.

4.     Open the photo upload option and upload it.

A few more photo rules are often missed by students. Keep these in mind:

•       A natural expression is fine, and smiling is allowed.

•       A solid colour background works best.

•       Your eyes must be open and looking at the camera.

•       Tinted glasses are not allowed unless you wear them daily for medical reasons.

The exam fee has to be paid in Indian rupees, even by students in Nepal and other countries. The notice lists all fee amounts in INR.

CBSE will not accept fee paid by direct deposit in a bank account or in any offline mode. Fee deposited offline by a school or a candidate will not be updated in the system. Pay only through the online portal.

UPI payment is open only to students in India. Students in Nepal and other countries have fewer options:

The two notices are mostly the same, but a few rules differ. Here is a quick comparison:

Choosing the wrong category can cause trouble, because only one form is allowed. This table shows what to choose:

The notice explains each part of the online process. Put together, the steps look like this:

1.     Go to cbse.gov.in and open the Private Candidate link.

2.     Click on "Click Here To Apply".

3.     Select your category carefully.

4.     Verify your email ID through OTP.

5.     Check your details and choose subjects, exam city and postal address.

6.     Upload your photo and signature as JPG files under 40 KB.

7.     Pay the fee online.

8.     Download a copy of the form and check it.

CBSE has added a new link on its homepage: "Online Application for Private Candidate for Examination Main, 2027". It opens the private candidate page, where the "Click Here To Apply" button takes students to the form.

CBSE will not issue a hard copy of the Migration Certificate as a rule. Students can apply online after the result if they need it. Class 12 students will also get a soft copy right after the result is declared.

Private candidates will download their admit card from CBSE's website. The marksheet will reach them in different ways depending on their exam centre:

CBSE does not mention an aggregate score or percentage on the marksheet. Students who need a percentage should calculate it as per the rules of their college or institution.

Students who pass the second chance Compartment exam in 2027 will get a consolidated marksheet. It will show their passed subjects from 2026 along with the compartment subject marks.

Students who appear for Improvement of Performance will get a new marksheet cum certificate. It will show only the marks scored in the 2027 improvement exam.

Every subject in the Class 10 and Class 12 lists carries 100 marks. Students need 33 marks to pass each subject.

CBSE has set clear rules for the photo. Before uploading, check these points:

•       The photo must be in full colour and of high quality.

•       It must have been taken in the last 6 months.

•       The head should face the camera and fill about 80% of the photo.

•       The photo should show you from just above the hair to the middle of the chest.

Class 12 students can take only one of the two Maths codes. The two codes are open to different groups:

Home Science (code 064) is open to female private candidates in both Class 10 and Class 12. It is also available to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement students.

Class 10 has two Science papers, and each is open to a different group of students:

Class 12 candidates with visual impairment in Delhi can choose any one Music subject from this list:

Children with Special Needs can get exemptions and concessions under the RPWD Act, 2016. To get them, students need to keep two things in mind:

•       Upload a copy of the disability certificate with the form.

•       Students who got these facilities earlier will get them again after uploading the documents.

Submitting the form and paying the fee does not give a student the right to sit the exam. CBSE will check whether the student meets the eligibility rules.

For private candidates, CBSE will handle practical, project and internal assessment marks as per its bye-laws. One of these three things will apply:

•       Earlier marks will be carried forward.

•       Pro rata marks will be given.

•       The practical exam will be held again.

Every private candidate will get a fresh roll number for the 2027 exams. No student will be allowed to appear with last year's roll number.

Students can choose only from the subjects shown by the system. They cannot add a subject that does not appear in their list.

The whole process is online. Students do not need to send a printed copy of the form to CBSE. They should download a copy for their own records after paying the fee.

The fee should be paid from the student's own account or card, or from a parent's or sibling's. This way, any refund will come back to the family and not to an outsider.

CBSE has advised students to fill in the form themselves. If a cyber cafe makes a mistake, the board will not accept it as an excuse.

CBSE has warned of strict action against students who give false details or fake documents. Such students will face three penalties:

•       Their form will be rejected.

•       Their fee will not be refunded.

•       They will be treated as having used unfair means.

If the roll number, school number or centre number does not match, the form will not be processed and an error message will appear. CBSE has warned that wrong information will lead to rejection.

Students who appeared in 2025 or earlier have to enter some details themselves. The details must match the old marksheet exactly:

•       Roll number

•       Year of passing

•       School number

•       Centre number

Students who appeared in the 2026 board exams will find some details already filled in. They only need to check these three details:

•       Candidate's name

•       Father's or guardian's name

•       Mother's name

CBSE will send an OTP to the student's email ID during the application. Without a working email ID, the form cannot be completed.

Each student can submit just one form. After submitting it, a student cannot apply again under another category. Choose your category carefully before you start.

CBSE private candidate form 2027 will be released today. Students need to get the form filled through schools.

Full-subject candidates in Class 10 and Class 12 can take a different number of subjects. The limits are as follows:

Students who had a 2026 roll number but could not sit the exam due to medical reasons can apply. This option does not cover students who were stopped due to shortage of attendance.

Only students who passed the CBSE exam in 2026 can apply for Improvement of Performance. They can take one or more subjects, but only those they had appeared for in 2026.

Students placed in Compartment in both the 2026 Main and Supplementary exams can apply again. They can appear only in the subject or subjects where they got Compartment, and must choose "Compartment" as their category.

Students declared Fail or Essential Repeat in any year from 2021 to 2026 are eligible. They can fill in the CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 under the full-subject category.

Students whose 2026 result was declared "Essential Repeat" can apply as private candidates for 2027. They will appear in all their subjects again.

Students will be tested only on the subjects and syllabus set for the 2027 exams. The syllabus is available on cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum_2027.html. Check it before choosing your subjects.

Private candidates will not write a separate exam. CBSE will hold their papers in February, March and April 2027, along with the main board exams for regular students.

Students who face any problem with the form can call the CBSE helpline at 1800-11-8002. The helpline works from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on working days.

In Class 12, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are open only to Essential Repeat, Compartment and Improvement candidates. Class 12 students with Compartment in one subject can take all subjects again under the "Essential Repeat" category.

Class 10 students placed in Compartment in two subjects in 2026 can choose to appear in all their subjects again. They must select "Essential Repeat" as their category while applying. Full-subject candidates in Class 10 can take 5, 6 or 7 subjects.

Students have to upload their photo and signature as JPG files, each under 40 KB. The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months, with the full face clearly visible.

Students in India can pay through Net Banking, UPI, debit card or credit card. Cash, DD, cheque and money order will not be accepted. Forms without fee payment by the last date will be rejected.

Class 12 private candidates have to pay a practical fee for each practical subject. The fee is INR 160 in India, INR 175 in Nepal and INR 375 in other countries. The Class 10 notice does not mention a practical fee.

Students in India will pay INR 320 for each additional subject. The fee is INR 1,100 per additional subject in Nepal and INR 2,200 in other countries.

The form will be available through the "Vyaktigat Pariksharthi" (Private Candidate) link on cbse.gov.in. The direct page is cbse.gov.in/newsite/private/index.html. CBSE will not accept offline forms.

Four groups of students can apply:

• Essential Repeat candidates of 2026
• Second chance Compartment candidates of 2026
• students who failed or got Essential Repeat from 2021 to 2026
• 2026 pass-outs who want to improve their marks

Missed October 23? Forms will still be accepted from October 24 to October 30. Students will have to pay an extra INR 2,000 per candidate on top of the normal fee. No form will be accepted after October 30.

Students must submit the form and pay the fee by October 23 to avoid a late fee. The last date for the form and the fee is the same.

The online form window opens on Thursday, October 8. Students cannot apply before this date, so keep your documents and email ID ready tonight.

CBSE issued separate notices for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates on October 7. Their exams will be held along with the main board exams between February and April 2027.

CBSE has many notices running at once. LOC, West Asia special exams and corrections are all different. Only a notice for private candidates is your form.

Fill the form yourself or with a parent. Do not give your login details to cyber cafes or agents. Mistakes made by others are hard to fix later.

After you submit, save the confirmation page as a PDF. Also take a printout. You may need it later.

Read the form once before you submit. Check these points carefully:

·       Name and parents' names

·       Date of birth

·       Subjects

·       Category

Keep all documents ready before you start. Use a stable internet connection. This lowers the chance of the page timing out.

A laptop or desktop is easier for long forms. Uploading photos and checking details is simpler on a bigger screen.

Private candidates do not get pre-board tests from a school. Use CBSE's previous year papers and sample papers. Both are on cbse.gov.in under Board Examinations.

CBSE sometimes issues separate notices for students outside India. The West Asia special exam is one example. Private candidates abroad should read every notice that names their region.

In 2025, the private form opened on September 9 and closed on September 30 without late fee. That gave students about three weeks to apply.

Essential Repeat private candidates appear in the full exam again. They should keep their last result and roll number ready for the form.

Online forms usually send updates by SMS and email. Use a number and email you check daily. Do not use a friend's or an agent's details.

Class 10 private students should wait for the 2027 notice before planning. It will list who can apply, which subjects are allowed and how to fill the form.

CBSE has not shared the fee for the 2027 private form. The amount will be in the official notice. Do not pay any fee shown on unofficial websites.

Marks from the special exam will be treated as final. They will replace the earlier result given under the Assessment Scheme. This applies to both regular and private candidates.

Private candidates take the same board exam as regular students. So they follow the same 2026-27 syllabus. There is no separate syllabus for private students.

Private candidates need details from their old marksheet. If it is lost, CBSE has the Duplicate Academic Document System (DADS). The link is on the CBSE homepage.

The June 2026 private form was for Class 12 students taking the Compartment exam as their third chance. It was not a form for the full 2027 board exams.

The last time CBSE opened a private form was for the Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026. Here is how that round moved.

In 2025, the late fee window for private candidates ran from October 3 to 11. The late fee was INR 2,000. This year, even the regular private form has not opened yet.

The September 22 to 26 window was only for West Asia special exams. It was not the form for the 2027 board exams. Private students in India are still waiting for that notice.

Not every private student in the region was eligible. These were the main conditions:

·       The student had filled the exam form for the 2026 Main Exams

·       The result was declared under the Assessment Scheme

·       The student was not absent from the Main Exams

·       No new private candidates were allowed

In September, CBSE announced special Class 12 exams for students in West Asia. Private candidates from those countries could also apply. This was separate from the 2027 private form.

Some websites are showing a mid-October last date for private candidates. No such date is on cbse.gov.in. Trust only the notice that CBSE publishes on its own site.
