CBSE to Conduct Special Class 12 Exams for Students in West Asia

The Central Board of Secondary will conduct CBSE Class 12 special exams for students whose 2026 board exams could not be conducted due to West Asia crisis. CBSE LOC form for special board exams opened on September 22. The deadline to submit the application form by schools for regular candidates is September 26. For private candidates, the deadline is September 26. The special exam will be conducted in 40 subjects (20 academic and 20 skill subjects) for eligible candidates in West Asian countries where the board exams were cancelled. Regular and private candidates will be able to replace the assessment-based results if they apply within September 22 to 26.

In a notification, CBSE said that Class 12 board examination could not be conducted in West Asian Countries. The Board had earlier notified an Assessment Scheme on March 27, 2026, under which results of regular candidates from West Asian countries were declared on May 13, 2026. Results of private candidates were also subsequently declared under the same scheme. Several students were dissatisfied with the result announced through assessment scheme. Special examination will provide an opportunity to appear for examinations in subjects that could not be held.

What is the Eligibility for CBSE 12th Special Exam?

The eligibility to appear for CBSE Class 12 special exam for private and regular candidates is given below.

Regular Candidates

• Students of affiliated schools in West Asian countries whose LOC was submitted for the Main Examinations 2026 and whose results were declared under the Assessment Scheme.
• Candidates may appear in subjects of their choice
• The result of this examination shall be final and will replace the earlier performance
• Candidates must submit their LOC personally within the prescribed schedule

Private Candidates

• Private category students of West Asian countries, who had submitted their examination forms for the Main Examinations 2026 and whose results were declared under the Assessment Scheme
• Candidates may appear in subjects of their choice
• The result of this examination shall be final and will replace the earlier performance
• Candidates must submit their examination forms personally within the prescribed schedule.
