The statement came as the document verification process for EWS admissions is currently underway.

In an official statement, Sood emphasized that parents facing issues such as a lack of transparency or discrepancies during the verification process can approach him directly or visit his office to register their grievances. "If parents face any irregularities or lack of transparency during the verification process, they can file a complaint directly with me or visit my office to register their grievances," Sood said.

6,192 Documents Verified So Far

The document verification for the EWS admissions, which is being conducted across designated verification centres, has progressed steadily. As of now, 6,192 documents have been successfully verified for students selected through the draw of lots conducted on March 5. These admissions are for nursery, KG, and Class 1 under the EWS quota.

The verification process is taking place across 29 zones under the Directorate of Education, and parents have been actively participating in the process. Between March 6 and 10, a total of 7,042 parents have visited the verification centres.

44,045 Children Selected for Delhi School EWS Admissions

Minister Sood further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Education Department has worked tirelessly to ensure a transparent and mission-driven admission process. From over 2 lakh applications, 44,045 children were selected through a computerized lottery for the EWS admissions.

He further shared that the document verification for these students has been taking place in phases across different zones, starting from March 6. The ongoing process aims to ensure that all necessary documentation is in order for students to receive admission tokens.

Ongoing Verification Process Across Various Zones

According to the official statement, document verification took place across several zones on specific dates. On March 7, 2,431 parents visited the designated verification centres, and the documents of 2,108 children were successfully verified. Following this, 1,698 children were issued admission tokens, while 410 parents were asked to complete their documentation.

On March 8, verification took place across three zones—7, 14, and 22. In total, 64 students underwent verification, with 43 admission tokens being issued, and 21 students asked to complete their paperwork.

Similarly, on March 10, 3,354 parents visited verification centres across the 29 zones. Out of these, 2,924 children's documents were verified, and 2,303 students were issued admission tokens. However, 600 parents received notices due to incomplete documentation, and two applications were rejected due to discrepancies.

Strict Action Against Malpractices

Sood also urged parents to stay vigilant throughout the admission process and report any illegal demands for money in exchange for securing admissions under the EWS quota. He assured that the Delhi government is committed to transparency and would take strict action against anyone found involved in malpractices.

Delhi Government’s Commitment to Education for All

Minister Ashish Sood reaffirmed the Delhi Government's priority of ensuring that no underprivileged or deserving child is deprived of their right to education. The government has promised to continue supporting transparent and fair admissions processes to maintain the integrity of the EWS quota system.

As the verification process continues, parents are urged to remain proactive and ensure that all required documents are in place to avoid any delays in the issuance of admission tokens.
