Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026: No Weightage for Third Language
The Karnataka School Examinations and Assessments Board has announced changes in the evaluation system. As per the revised grading system, third language marks will not be considered for the final score.
The Karnataka School Examinations and Assessments Board has revised the Karnataka SSLC grading system 2026. The Karnataka School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced that third language marks will not be considered for the final score. This will take effect for the ongoing Karnataka SSLC exam 2026. Karnataka SSLC result 2026 is expected to be released by end of April 2026.
As per the revised grading system, marks scoed in the third language paper will not be added in the final aggregate score of the student. Students have to appear for the exam mandatorily. The total marks for Karnataka SSLC evaluation will be now 525. Earlier it was 625. The Karnataka state board has decided to replace marks with a grading system. Students will be given grades A, B, C or D instead of marks. The third language for SSLC exam is mainly Hindi. The Karnataka board will conduct the SSLC exam third language paper on March 31, 2026. If a student secure an aggregate of 33% marks in both internal assessment and external examination, and secure at least 30% marks in the respective subject, such student will be declared passed.
