Karnataka High Court has announced that students will receive marks and not grades for third language in Karnataka SSLC 2026 results. This decision reverses the state government's recent grading-only proposal for board examinations.
Karnataka SSLC Result 2026: High Court of Karnataka has announced that SSLC students will be receive marks and not grades for third language paper in Karnataka 10th board result 2026. This decision stays state government's suggestion to shift to grading system for subjects like Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu. The council also asked board to carefully check the Karnataka SSLC result 2026 and timely publish it on official website.
In March, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced a change to reduce student stress. The plan was to skip third language marks from final results, reducing the total Karnataka SSLC score from 625 to 525. Students were to receive grades (A, B, C, or D) that would not impact their qualifying status.
After the decision, a petition filed by Class 10 students argued that the rules should not be changed midway. The High Court also accepted the petition saying the modification must be implemented from the start and not during the examination.
