The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced that it will prepare a new State Curriculum Framework (SCF) for the students studying in Classes 9 to 12. Students studying in more than 2900 schools under UP Board may soon experience the new way of learning. 

The board will soon draft a detailed State Curriculum Framework (SCF) for secondary and senior secondary classes. The new SCF plan is based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 and will improve both classroom teaching and student learning across the state.

New Curriculum to Focus on Practical Learning

According to the information shared by the board, the new state curriculum framework will focus on how subjects should be taught in the classes between 9 and 12. It will also focus on how students should learn, and how schools can create a better learning environment inside the classrooms. Once drafted, it will be used for Classes 9 to 12 in more than 29,000 UP Board schools.

The new State Curriculum Framework (SCF) will mainly aim to:

• Make education more practical, creative, and student-focused.

• Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity among the students studying in classes 9 to 12.

• Learning with the local language, culture, and everyday life.

• Promote understanding rather than rote learning.

• Ensure equal learning opportunities for all students.

The framework will also include some other important areas such as the teaching-learning process, assessment system, the role of teachers, and school resources. The offline and online workshops are also expected to begin in July with the participation of education experts from across the state. Once completed, the new framework will be applied to guide teaching and learning in UP Board schools from the 2026-27 academic session.
