The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has started a five-day workshop at its Prayagraj headquarters to prepare a new State Curriculum Framework (SCF) for secondary and senior secondary education in the state. Students who are studying in classes between 9 and 12 in the UP Board schools will soon see changes in the learning process in their classrooms. Many education experts, teachers, subject specialists, and officials across the country are participating in the workshop and helping the board prepare the new framework.

UPMSP Secretary Bhagwati Singh said the new curriculum will bring an important change in secondary education in the state. The board will prepare the State Curriculum Framework (SCF) after considering suggestions received during the workshop.

UP Board New Curriculum to Focus on Practical and Inclusive Learning

According to the board officials, the new curriculum framework will be prepared considering the educational needs of the state. SCF will focus on the state's geographical conditions, social and cultural diversity, and requirements of the local. The framework will also promote skill-based learning among the students and improve the teaching and assessment process. It will give students from both rural and urban areas equal learning opportunities.

The workshop is also focusing on achieving the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Officials from the board said the new framework will clearly define what students should learn, how teachers should teach, and how students should be assessed.

The State Curriculum Framework will also be responsible for preparing new syllabi and textbooks for Classes 9 to 12 students. During the 5-day workshop, experts are discussing subject-wise curriculum, learning process, and guidelines for textbook development.
