CBSE directs schools to submit UDISE data online immediately
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools to provide Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) data online immediately.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools to provide Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) data online immediately.
“UDISE had been initiated in 2012-13 regarding the collection of integrated DISE information for elementary education and secondary education. It is one of the largest Management Information Systems on School Education. All the schools in India are to complete their UDISE+ data through an online platform at the earliest,” the CBSE notification stated.
“However, it has come to notice that some of the CBSE affiliated schools have not filled in UDISE+ data on the online platforms. Nonsubmission of UDISE+ information shall lead to violation of rule no. 12.2.2 of affiliation Bye-Laws,” the notification further added.
CBSE has directed all school authorities to fill the UDISE+ data pertaining to 2019-20 accurately through the online platform immediately.
The U-DISE data are used extensively for planning and monitoring development interventions in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India, to enhance access to secondary education and improve its quality. Now, UDISE also serves as the major source of official statistics. There is, therefore, a need to have a master directory of schools. This directory will help identify schools that are not covered under UDISE.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is also the Government of India's flagship programme for the achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) in a time-bound manner, as mandated by the 86th amendment to the Constitution of India making free and compulsory Education to the Children of 6-14 years age group, a Fundamental Right.
