The petitioners have also cited a series of Notifications from the Bar Council of India issued in 2020 which directed colleges across India to prefer an online mode of examination or to promote students based on their previous performances. The petition also argues that it is not possible for students staying in other states to travel amid the ongoing pandemic and appear for the offline exams.  It also points out how it is not feasible to wait until the current pandemic to end to conduct examinations, since this causes an inherent delay in the commencement of next semesters and their further studies, particularly for final year students.

The Gujarat High Court has received request by the petitioner to quash the notification issued by the Gujarat University and to take immediate action in view of the same to direct the University to conduct online examinations at the earliest.
