
Karnataka NEET UG counselling 2025 registration has concluded. The counselling is likely to begin from fourth week of July 2025. It will commence in 4 stages of registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting. The respective counselling process will commence for the admission to various MBBS, BDS, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Homeopathy, and Ayurveda courses across government and private medical colleges of Karnataka.
This year, the state offers approximately 12,395 MBBS seats across 71 medical colleges—3,800 in government colleges, around 6,000 in private institutions, and over 2,500 under deemed and NRI quotas. Two new government colleges in Ramanagara and Kanakapura have added about 250 seats. Counselling is expected to begin in early July and will proceed through multiple rounds—starting with registration and mock allotments, followed by Round 1 seat allocation, and continuing with Round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy rounds through November.

Registration and Fee Payment:
- Register on official website of cetonline.karnataka.gov.in under UGCET 2025.
Fee structure:

- SC/ST/CAT-I/PwD- INR 500
- NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National- INR 5,500
Payment Method: Online via credit/debit card, net banking, or offline through a bank challan.

Provisional Merit List: Released post-verification
Final Merit List: Published after addressing any discrepancies.
Eligibility: Only candidates on the final merit list can participate in the counselling process.
Secret Key and Option Entry: After successful document verification, KEA issues a secret key (on the verification slip) alongside an acknowledgement. This is mandatory for accessing the option entry portal.
Important: This key must be kept confidential.
Choice Filling in Round 1: You can enter unlimited options (colleges/courses) until the final date. All selections made up to the last day are frozen and used for seat allotment. Candidates cannot fill new choices in Round 2, but may reorder or upgrade existing options.
Seat Allotment List: KEA publishes seat allotment results based on merit rank and option preferences submitted.
Post-Allotment Actions: To confirm your seat, log in, then pay the fees, and download the admissions order. Finally, report to the allotted college within the specified timeframe.
Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy Rounds: KEA conducts a mop-up round for seats left vacant after main counselling, even for NRI and other quotas open in this phase.

NEET UG 2025: Types of Merit List
Types of Merit List issued by NEET UG :
Overall merit list: This merit list includes the names and ranks of all the candidates who appeared for NEET. This is the first merit list and is prepared by NTA. This merit list will be forwarded to all counselling bodies, both national and state.
15% AIQ merit list: This merit list will contain the names of only those candidates who would qualify for the NEET UG result. This merit list is prepared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
State quota merit list: Every state will prepare its counselling merit lists for admissions to 85% of state quota seats. These merit lists will include only those candidates who will qualify for NEET result 2025 and register for the counselling of that respective state.

Nationality Change from Indian to NRI
Candidates willing to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI had to send the filled up form along with the requisite documents to the email id ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com. The following documents have to be uploaded in the email in the following order:

The closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, closing rank for year 2023 was 24,330.
