NIT Rourkela Placement 2025-26: National Institute of Technology Rourkela has recorded 1,340 on-campus placement offers and 364 six-month internship offers during 2025-26 placement season. A total of 374 recruiters participated, with nearly half of them being first-time recruiters at institute. Students selected for six-month internships will also have an opportunity to receive Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), depending on their performance.

As per NIT Rourkela placement report, companies from Software and IT Services sector accounted for largest share of recruiters at 17.79%. This was followed by Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) at 11.52%, Electronics at 8.40%, Manufacturing at 8.09% and Education at 7.23%.

Six BTech branches, including Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, recorded an overall placement rate of 95.47%.

Six other programmes Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Design, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering also recorded placement rates above 90%.

258 Summer Internship Offers Recorded

NIT Rourkela also reported an all-time high of 258 summer internship offers for students in pre-final year. The highest internship stipend reached Rs 1.50 lakh per month. More than 83 students also secured annual packages of over INR 30 lakh.

Software Engineer, Data Analyst Among Major Roles

Students received offers for several roles across different sectors. Some of the major positions included Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Graduate Trainee Engineer, Data Analyst and Business Analyst.

Major recruiters included Aditya Birla Group, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), JSW Group, Larsen & Toubro, ZS Associates, Vedanta Resources, Texas Instruments, ExxonMobil, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Deloitte USI, Cairn Oil and Gas, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Accenture, Deutsche India, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Teradata, NatWest, Qualcomm and Tata Motors, among others.
