COVID-19 Impact: Haryana colleges, universities closed until April 30

Earlier, the state government announced the closure of schools for students of Classes 1 to 9. The decision to shut schools, colleges and universities until April-end has been made in view of the rising cases of the novel coronavirus in the state.

Haryana Universities, Colleges Closed! Haryana government directed the closure of all state colleges and Universities. According to the reports, all universities and colleges in Haryana will remain closed until April 30, the Director-General of Higher Education of the state said. Earlier, the state government announced closure of schools for students of Classes 1 to 9. The decision to shut schools, colleges and universities until April-end has been made in view of the rising cases of the novel coronavirus in the state.

Considering the health risks involved during the ongoing pandemic situation, Haryana Chief Minister Kanwar Pal said, Due to rising COVID-19 cases, schools for Classes 9 to 12 will also be closed till April 30. Schools from first to eighth grade have already been closed until April 30". In a separate notification, Haryana’s Skill Education and Industrial Development has announced that physical training in the ITIs will remain cancelled till April 30. Training will continue online, it added.

Previously, the Haryana government shut primary and secondary schools (Classes 1 to 8) in view of rising cases of COVID-19. The government also cancelled HBSE 10^th exams and said students will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment. Meanwhile, HBSE 12^th exams in Haryana stand postponed and new dates will be announced later.

Universities, colleges and other educational institutions across the country are announcing closure due to the terrifying surge in the COVID-19 cases. The decision is being taken considering the health and safety of the students as well the staff members.
