Below are the reservation categories for NID DAT.

NID has not yet announced the exam dates for studio test and personal interview for NID DAT Mains 2026 exam for M.Des. The exams are expected to be conducted in March 2026.

Candidates who have cleared NID DAT Prelims for M.des are now eligible to appear for NID DAT Mains exam 2026.

Candidates have to pay INR 2,000 per discipline as recheck requests for DAT Prelims result.

The rechecking process does not involve a re-evaluation of any other aspect of the answer booklet. Candidates were required to submit a fee of INR 2,000 per discipline (expected) for their requests.

2. If tie persists: If the tie is not broken, the candidate with higher marks in DAT Prelims (Part I) will receive the higher rank.
3. Final Step: If the tie is still unresolved, both candidates will be assigned the same rank.

After National Institute of Design announces result for NID DAT Prelims result for MDes, candidates who clear Prelims, will have to appear for DAT Mains exam, Situation Test. The exam date for Mains exam has not yet been announced. The tentative date is first week of March 2026.

Tie-break policy for B.Des program

3. If the tie still exists, then both candidates will be given the same rank

Yes, it is mandatory to clear both, NIDT DAT Mains and Prelims exams, to be eligible for seat allotment round of NID admission.
