The National E-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Department of Electronics and Information Technology started accepting the applications for internships for the DigiLocker project. According to the reports, the interns will have to work as mobile developers for iOS. The total duration of the internship will be 3 to 12 months. Candidates interested in the virtual internship launched by the flagship initiative of the ministry of electronics and IT, DigiLocker, can apply at the official website, i.e. digilocker.gov.in.

Candidates who will qualify and selected as interns will be given specific tasks and responsibilities and will be challenged to develop their capabilities and gain experience. They are expected to be flexible and provide time-bound delivery of the assigned task. According to an official notification released by the authority, the officials said, “Contributing to DigiLocker can be a rewarding way to learn, teach, help, and build experience”. Upon successful completion of the internship, the interns will get a certificate. However, interested applicants must note that they will not be getting any remuneration and will have to work from home. The work-from-home opportunity has been introduced considering the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

NEGD has developed an open forge platform openforge.gov.in to collaborate their work and get it reviewed by the mentors. The DigiLocker project runs under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.
