President Murmu emphasized the government's commitment to establishing a modern education system through the National Education Policy. Key initiatives include promoting learning in mother tongues and conducting recruitment exams in 13 Indian languages

In her address to Parliament at the beginning of the Budget Session of 2025, President Droupadi Murmu outlined significant strides in India’s education and space sectors.

Modernizing Education System President Murmu emphasized the government's commitment to establishing a modern education system through the National Education Policy. Key initiatives include promoting learning in mother tongues and conducting recruitment exams in 13 Indian languages, breaking down language barriers for students across the nation.

Fostering Innovation in Schools In a bid to foster innovation, over 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs have been set up in schools, providing students with opportunities to explore creativity and hands-on learning.

Boosting Research and Accessibility The President highlighted the introduction of the One Nation-One Subscription Scheme, which grants free access to international research materials, enhancing the ease of doing research for Indian scholars.

Growth and Improvement in Higher Education Over the past decade, India has seen a substantial increase in the number of higher education institutions, with quality improvements as well. The QS World University Asia Rankings now includes 163 Indian universities, signaling the country’s growing academic stature.

Revival of Nalanda University The inauguration of the new Nalanda University campus marks a historic moment, reviving India’s ancient glory in education and reaffirming its global educational leadership.

India’s Space Achievements On the space front, President Murmu declared that the day is not far when an Indian citizen will travel aboard the indigenously developed Gaganyaan spacecraft. She also acknowledged the success of ISRO’s recent 100th launch, which successfully placed a satellite into orbit, congratulating the organization and all citizens for this milestone.
