Amazon India has expanded its Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) Scholarship Program by announcing 500 new scholarships for women in engineering for the 2025–2029 academic cycle. The program, aimed at empowering female students from low-income backgrounds, has already shown remarkable success—over 80% of the first 200 graduates secured jobs in Fortune 500 companies, including full-time roles at Amazon.
Amazon Expands Women in Tech Scholarships
Since its launch in 2022, the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship has supported over 1,700 women in engineering. The program provides financial assistance of ₹2 lakh over four years, laptops, specialized technical bootcamps, Amazon internships, and career mentorship by industry professionals.
Amazon reports that many beneficiaries are first-generation college graduates from towns like Latur (Maharashtra) and Chaibasa (Jharkhand). Scholars such as Samala Keerthi, who joined Amazon as a Software Development Engineer, highlight how the program offers not only financial support but also confidence, mentorship, and real-world tech exposure.
Selection Process and Application Details
The program is implemented in partnership with the Foundation for Excellence (FFE), which ensures a rigorous selection process based on academic merit, financial need, and leadership potential. Applications for the 2025–2029 batch are open from August 18 to November 30, 2025, at www.amazonfutureengineer.in/scholarship. The list of selected scholars will be announced in early 2026.
Building Future Women Tech Leaders
“By integrating financial support, mentorship, skills training, and real-world experience, this program empowers talented young women to become the next generation of technology leaders in India,” said Ram Kolavennu, CEO of Foundation for Excellence, Amazon’s implementation partner.
