What is the normalisation method in AP EAMCET?

To eliminate variations across sessions, APSCHE implements a standardized normalization formula. This process adjusts marks based on session averages and standard deviations, mapping candidates onto a global comparative scale.

Final merit ranks follow a dual-weightage system:

  • 75% weightage from AP EAPCET normalized marks.

  • 25% weightage from Intermediate marks in core group subjects.

The guidelines clarify policy on negative marks. For candidates qualified in the exam, any subject score that turns negative after normalization will be treated as zero, though total cumulative marks will remain intact.

For candidates from SC/ST categories who don’t have any minimum qualifying marks, a net negative score across all subjects defaults to zero for initial ranking, but the negative fractional value is preserved to break ties. If a tie still occurs in final combined score, then the following procedure will be utilized to resolve this:

  1. Total marks secured in AP EAPCET 2026

  2. Marks secured in Mathematics

  3. Marks secured in Physics

If tie still persists after these steps, older candidates will get preference during admissions based on their date of birth.
