Bharti Airtel Foundation hosts Investiture Ceremony to Celebrate Scholarship Scholars
Bharti Airtel Foundation celebrates the achievements of 282 deserving students under its Bharti Airtel Scholarship program. These Bharti Scholars, hailing from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, are pursuing technology courses at top 50 NIRF engineering institutions across India.
Empowering Young Minds through Education
The Bharti Airtel Foundation has long been dedicated to empowering young minds through quality education. In commemoration of its 25th year of philanthropic efforts, the Foundation aims to expand the scholarship program’s reach to 4,000 scholars, with an ambitious annual outlay exceeding INR 100 crore as it progresses toward its full potential.
The Bharti Airtel Scholarship program is designed to support deserving students, particularly focusing on girl students, in becoming future technology leaders. This merit-cum-means-based scholarship program caters to students enrolled in undergraduate technology courses and five-year integrated programs at top NIRF engineering institutes. The scholarship fully covers 100% of annual fees for the duration of the course, including meal and accommodation charges for those who apply. Each Bharti Scholar also receives a laptop in their first year to assist with their studies.
A Legacy of Quality Education
Founded in 2000, the Bharti Airtel Foundation operates with the vision of helping underprivileged children and youth realize their potential. The Foundation's efforts extend to holistic quality education in rural India, with a significant emphasis on girls' education. Since 2006, its flagship Satya Bharti School Program has provided free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children across 164 schools in four states, currently enrolling over 37,000 students, more than half of whom are girls.
Impacting Lives Beyond Schools
The impact of the Foundation's educational initiatives extends beyond its schools. The Quality Support Program (QSP) has transferred effective learning practices to over 400,000 students in 1,000 partner government schools across 12 states since 2013. Additionally, the Foundation is working on innovative projects such as TheTeacherApp, aimed at enhancing resources for educators. Collaborations with esteemed institutions like IIT Delhi and ISB Mohali further enrich the higher education opportunities available to students.
