COMEDK UGET 2026 Eligibility Criteria Released with 3 Major Changes; Check Details Here
The Consortium has released the COMEDK UGET 2026 eligibility criteria on its website, comedk.org. This year, the authorities have introduced several new provisions. Candidates can check the detailed requirements here to know if they can apply for the test.
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has released the COMEDK 2026 eligibility criteria at comedk.org. The eligibility criteria for COMEDK 2026 specify the minimum qualifications required to apply for the test. This year, the authorities have announced 3 major changes to the COMEDK UGET eligibility criteria 2026. Only those who fulfil the eligibility criteria can get admission to participating institutes. The COMEDK 2026 registration will commence on February 3, 2026.
Changes Introduced in COMEDK 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check the new changes introduced this year below.
- Until 2025, candidates are required to have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject in class 12 to be able to apply for COMEDK. However, from this year, instead of Chemistry, candidates can also have Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics.

Candidates should have passed all the individual subjects, including all optional or additional subjects
- A candidate who has obtained ‘0' (Zero) mark will not be assigned any rank.

Detailed COMEDK UGET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are Indian Citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) can appear for the COMEDK UGET 2026.

The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E./B.Tech is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognised by State / Central Government; the last two years of stu
dy shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry(or Biotechnology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics) Mathematics & English as compulsory subjects -
General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnatak
a State) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and should have pa ssed these subjects individually. Physics, Mathematics and English are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE/VTU will be adopted. -
Candidates should have passed in all the individual subjects, including all optional or additional subjects

All the subjects should be passed from a single board. Marks Cards from 2 different boards will not be accepted. Example: A single candidate having Marks card of Physics and Chemistry from CBSE board and Marks Card of Mathematics from NIOS board is not eligible.

An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list. However, a candidate who has obtained ‘0” (Zero) mark will not be assigned any rank.
