The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has concluded the COMEDK UGET 2026 counselling process. The authorities conducted a total of four rounds of COMEDK UGET counselling to fill around 24,000 engineering seats at over 150+ participating institutes. The deadline for decision-making and reporting has concluded and candidates can now check the final vacany report. As per the latest notification, there are 16,855 engineering seats that remain vacant across participating institutes and courses.

COMEDK 2026 Vacancy: CSE Accounts for Highest Number of Seats

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has emerged as the branch with the highest number of vacant seats after round 4. An analysis of the COMEDK UGET 2026 vacancy data shows that 4,375 CSE seats remain vacant. This is followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which has 2,548 vacant seats. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) accounts for another 1,491 vacant seats, while Mechanical Engineering has 1,236 vacancies.

The COMEDK UGET 2026 vacancy data shows that a large number of vacant seats are concentrated in computer-related programmes. Besides the 4,375 vacancies in conventional CSE, candidates can find vacant seats in CSE with specialisations such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Cyber Security. For example, the vacancy list shows CSE (AI & ML), CSE (Data Science) and Cyber Security seats across several participating colleges.

R V College of Engineering has limited vacancies across some programmes, including 2 seats in CSE, 5 in CSE (AI & ML), 4 in CSE (Data Science) and 7 in Civil Engineering. Similarly, M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology has vacancies in selected programmes, such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and other programmes. Though non-popular institutes have larger vacancies.
