- Passed 10 + 2 with 60% aggregate with subjects; Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for all courses
- Passed with 50% in the Mathematics subject in 10 + 2 for Polymer Science & Engineering & Naval Architecture & Ship Building
- Passed with 55% in Mathematics in 10 +2 for Instrumentation & Technology
- Qualified CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU) for Marine Engineering

CUSAT CAT question paper comprises the questions of six hundred seventy five marks. The questions in CUSAT exam will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. According to the CUSAT exam pattern, candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while there will be a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer.
