FedEx Express has teamed up with the Magic Bus India Foundation to tackle the digital skills gap and employability challenges in India. This collaboration aims to upskill nearly 400 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) students, prioritising female graduates from underserved communities in Hyderabad. The initiative aligns with the Indian government's strategic focus on developing a robust tech talent pool.

The collaborative efforts aim to bring about a significant change by equipping youth with essential skills, helping them secure employment, and attaining economic stability. This empowerment enables them to support their families, rise out of poverty, and become role models and catalysts for change within their communities.

Curriculum To Upskill Youth

A 75-day curriculum has been prepared to upskill youth in Cloud Computing and related technologies, along with life and employability skills. Delivered through in-person sessions by expert trainers, the program includes group activities, employer engagement sessions, and mentorship. This prepares participants for entry-level IT/ITeS jobs by enhancing their professional profiles and interview skills.

The course comes with an industry-relevant project and an opportunity to earn a global certification to showcase the participant's acquired skills and knowledge. Upon course completion, they will get placement assistance for entry-level jobs in the IT/ITeS sector.

โ€œAt FedEx, we recognize the immense potential of India's youth and their crucial role in shaping the future,โ€ said Nitin Navneet Tatiwala, Vice President Marketing and Air Network, Middle East Indian Subcontinent and Africa, FedEx. โ€œDeveloping a rich pool of skilled professionals is essential for driving innovation and growth. Our support not only prepares the youth for immediate job opportunities but also instills the adaptability and knowledge required to thrive in todayโ€™s competitive professional landscape."

Jayant Rastogi, Global CEO, Magic Bus India Foundation, said, โ€œWe are committed to implementing our shared vision with FedEx to empower youth from underserved communities through our digital skilling program, preparing them for the thriving IT/ITeS sector. This collaboration marks a significant step in developing a future-ready workforce, ensuring that these young individuals are prepared for the evolving job market.โ€
