The extended application window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will close on October 5, 2026. This year, IIT Madras is the organising institute for GATE 2027, and the official website to apply is gate2027.iitm.ac.in. Candidates who miss today’s deadline can still submit their GATE exam form. The extended application date with late fees is October 12, 2026, as per the revised schedule released by IIT Madras. 

How much is the GATE 2027 registration fee

• The GATE exam fees for female, SC/ST and PwD is INR 1000 (during regular period) and INR 1500 (during the extended period)

• The GATE registration fees for other candidates are INR 2000 (with no late fees) and INR 2500 (with late fees). 

How to apply for GATE 2027

Candidates who want to apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) can fill out their form at GOAPS. The steps for GATE DigiLocker registration can be checked below:

• Go to official website and click of “Apply Now”

• Now continue with DigiLocker login

• Candidates can use a verified or unverified Digilocker account for registration

• Read all instructions carefully and sign in to your account via DigiLocker

• Complete details and set the consent validity to three years

• Confirm declaration and submit details. After submitting details, candidates will be redirected to GOAPS portal

• Enter all the required details and complete facial registration

• Provide facial registration and enter all details carefully

• Upload documents and pay exam fees

• Submit application form and download confirmation PDF

When will GATE 2027 application form correction window open

The IITM GATE form correction window will remain open from October 14 to 21, 2026. During this period, candidates can update their personal and exam details. Only registered candidates are eligible to access the correction window. 

GATE 2027 Exam Dates

IIT Madras will conduct GATE 2027 exam on Feb 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027. The exam will be held in two shifts for 30 subject papers. The subject-wise GATE exam dates will be announced soon.
