GATE application fee 2027: IIT Madras have updated the application fees on its official website. This year, there is no change in GATE 2027 exam fees. For females and category applicants, the registration fee is INR 1000 and for others including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2000. IIT Madras have released GATE application fee details (for each category) at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The payment of GATE application fee 2027 is mandatory for registration. Candidates must complete their fee payment before the GATE 2027 registration last date. Once the applicant have made the payment, the GATE exam form will be submitted successfully.Β

GATE Application Fee 2027: Category-Wise, Registration Dates

Candidates can check the GATE exam fees 2027 along with revised GATE application dates.

Category

Exam fees during regular period (Aug 27 to Sept 27)

Exam fees during extended period (Sept 28 to Oct 5, 2026)

Female, SC/ST category and PwD candidates

INR 1000

INR 1500

All other candidates (including foreign nationals)

INR 2000

INR 2500

Accepted payment modes for GATE Application Form 2027

IIT Madras GATE 2027 registration fee payment through following modes:

  • UPI

  • Netbanking

  • Credit card or Debit card

  • Wallet

How to pay GATE Application Fee 2027

Candidates can pay their GATE application fee by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to official website of GATE 2027: gate2027.iitm.ac.in

  • If already filled, then proceed next to the payment stage and complete the payment

  • Download the confirmation PDF and receipt for future reference

  • If not registered, then complete the process, and select the payment mode and complete the payment

For students who want to apply for two GATE papers, then they have to pay twice the amount of the GATE application fee 2027

Instructions while paying GATE 2027 exam fees

The application fee payment is the last stage of the GATE 2027 registration. Check important details below.

  • First, check if your Internet connection is stable

  • Make sure that your bank account is active and has sufficient funds

  • Keep the receipt after the payment is done

  • If the amount is deducted, but the form is not submitted, then try logging out make the payment again.Β 

  • If additional amount is deducted, then the extra amount will be refunded to source account within 15 days
