GATE COAP 2024 Registration

GATE COAP 2024 Registration to Begin on March 20, Tentatively

Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad has released its MTech admission schedule. The COAP counselling schedule is yet to be announced, however, IIT Dhanbad’s MTech admission schedule indicates that the offers via COAP will start rolling out from May 15 to July 15, 2024, and the COAP registration will start on March 20 (tentatively), four days after the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering result will be announced.

The GATE organizing institute of the previous year acts as the coordinating institute for COAP on an annual basis. For COAP 2024, IIT Kanpur will be the coordinating institute and will declare the COAP 2024 schedule after the GATE 2024 result announcement on March 16. Candidates who have taken GATE exams in 2024/2023/2022 can register for COAP 2024.

GATE COAP does not serve as an application portal for MTech admission to any participating institute. Candidates are required to apply separately to the respective IITs for MTech admission or PSU for jobs. COAP serves as a platform where the IITs / PSUs upload their offers to the registered candidates based on their selection criteria. Candidates must register for COAP before applying to any institute/PSU, as the COAP registration number is mandatory to apply to any participating institute for their MTech programs.

IITs upload their offer to the registered candidates under the COAP dashboard. The number of rounds of offers can go anywhere up to 12. However, not all the IITs roll out the offers until the last round. Some IITs complete their offers in the early rounds itself.

Candidates who receive offers in COAP have the option to select the offer they prefer and practice various options such as 'Accept and Freeze', 'Retain and Wait', or 'Reject all above and wait'. Once the candidate has made a final decision at COAP, they must visit the official website of the IIT/PSU where they have accepted the offer and complete the admission process according to the guidelines and dates specified.

The IITs that participate in COAP are IISc Bangalore, IIT Bhilai, IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIT BHU, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Dharwad, IIT Goa, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Jammu, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Mandi, IIT Palakkad, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, IIT Ropar, IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Tirupati.
