How many marks are required in GATE 2026 DA for IITs & NITs?

IIT Guwahati conducted GATE DA 2026 exam on Feb 15 in the second shift. Now that the response sheet, question paper and GATE 2026 answer key released, and objection window closed. IIT Guwahati is all set to announce GATE result 2026 on March 19.

With GATE DA paper relatively new, the competition has intensified and the popularity of the branch is increasing. As per the GATE 2026 DA paper analysis, the difficulty of the question paper was moderate to tough, according to experts and students. This analysis can play an important role in the final minimum qualifying cutoff and result. 

Expected Qualifying Cutoff for GATE DA (Category-wise)

Based on the paper analysis, the GATE DA 2026 expected qualifying cutoff is expected to be somewhere between, 30 to 32 marks for general category, 26 - 27.5 marks for OBC-NCL, and 19.3 - 20 marks for SC/ST and PwD category.

How much marks is required in GATE 2026 DA for IITs and NITs

For top IITs, a GATE marks around 80+ marks is required and is considered as safe for MTech admission, which is probably a AIR rank under 200. For mid- tier and new IITs, 65 to 72 marks is considered safe. For students targeting NITs, a GATE score of 650 -750 marks (55-65 marks) is considered safe for top NITs. On the other hand, for mid and low NITs, 500 - 600 score (45-55 marks) range is sufficient for admission to MTech in GATE Data Science and AI. 

GATE 2026 DA Result and Scorecard Release Date

IIT Guwahati will declare GATE DA result 2026 on March 19. Candidates can check their result at gate2026.iitg.ac.in using their enrollment ID and password. GATE scorecard 2026 will be released on March 27 and can be downloaded for free till May 31. Candidates are advised to keep their credentials ready before the release of GATE 2026 result.
