Boeing announces winners of the 10th National Aeromodelling Competition with top teams from IIT Madras and IIT Kharagpur. Over 1,400 students from 432 institutes including IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and RV College of Engineering participated. Finalists to join Boeing Apprenticeship program.

Boeing has announced the winners of its 10th annual National Aeromodelling Competition, a flagship initiative supported by Boeing and conducted in partnership with premier institutes including IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and R.V. College of Engineering. The competition drew over 1,400 students from 432 institutions nationwide, celebrating innovation, technical skill, and diversity with 24% female participation in the finals.

The zonal rounds were hosted at IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Madras, culminating in a final event in Bengaluru where 46 finalists from 12 teams competed. This year’s winners hailed from IIT Madras and IIT Kharagpur, reflecting the strong aerospace talent nurtured at these institutions.

First Place: Team from IIT Madras (Prajwal B.T, Ashik, Pradyumna Bhat, Adarsh H. N)

Second Place: Team from IIT Kharagpur (Amogh Wadhonkar, Kinjal Bunker, Saurajjal Mondal, Gaurav Anand)

Third Place: Team from IIT Kharagpur (Ved Takte, Shreya Rajneesh, Daksh Gupta, Shreshta Yaduka)

All finalists will also benefit from a unique opportunity to join the Boeing Apprenticeship program for one year, gaining real-world aerospace industry experience.

Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India & South Asia, highlighted the competition’s impact: “India’s aerospace industry is booming, and Boeing is committed to nurturing a skilled workforce. Our competition has empowered students across India to showcase real-world aerospace solutions for the past decade.”

As per a statement issued by Boeing, it continues to invest in India’s aerospace talent through initiatives such as the Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development (BUILD) program, Boeing HorizonX India Innovation Challenge, and the Accelerated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) Apprenticeship program, aiming to fuel innovation and industry readiness.
