IIT Guwahati Launches Hybrid MTech Program in Flood & Water Resource Management for Professionals; No GATE Score Needed

IIT Guwahati has launched a hybrid M.Tech program in Flood and Water Resources Management for working professionals, offering multiple entry and exit options with recognised certificates, no GATE score required, and applications open until July 31, 2025.

IIT Guwahati MTech Program: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has introduced a new MTech program in Flood and Water Resources Management, tailored for working professionals and graduates looking to improve their skills in this field. Offered by the Department of Civil Engineering, the program follows a hybrid format with online classes and on-campus labs and exams. It aims to provide advanced knowledge and practical skills to tackle issues like water scarcity, climate change, and sustainable development.

To be eligible for the program, candidates must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 60% marks or a CPI of 6.0 out of 10. Additionally, applicants should have at least one year of professional experience in the water resource sector.

Applications for the first batch are now open, and interested candidates can apply online. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2025, and classes will begin on August 18, 2025. No GATE score is required for admission; candidates will be selected based on a written test and interview conducted by the department.
