IIT Madras to hold 60th convocation on July 22

Dr Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIT Madras will address on the occasion. Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras will present the Director’s Report.

IIT Madras 60th Convocation in July 22

IIT Madras 60th Convocation Ceremony: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is all set to hold its 60th Convocation Ceremony on July 22. According to the official statement, Dr Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIT Madras will address on the occasion. Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras will present the Director’s Report.

The convocation ceremony will also be online streamed at https://iitm.chennaistream.com/.

Official post shared by the institute through its social media handle reads, “#IITMadras will be conducting the 'Sixtieth Convocation' on July 22, 2023, from 11 a.m. onwards at the Students Activity Centre (SAC), IIT Madras campus, in the presence of the esteemed chief guest, the Honourable Chief Justice of India, Dr. Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud.”

Meanwhile, IIT Madras has launched an online certification course on Construction Technology and Management, which will teach the latest advances in construction technology and management practices.

This course aims at working professionals in structural design and construction firms but also at faculty in engineering colleges as well as students who intend to work in the construction industry and will expose them to cutting-edge construction management techniques and methods.

The first batch commences on September 1, 2023. The last date to apply is August 20, 2023. While there are no specific eligibility criteria, a background in architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical or management is preferred.
