IIT Roorkee, BITS Pilani Sign Agreement to Boost Research and Innovation
IIT Roorkee and BITS Pilani have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration on research, education and innovation with a special focus on AI. The collaboration is expected to help researchers and students from both institutions to combine their expertise and resources for impactful solutions.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani have signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in research, education and innovation. With this initiative, both institutions can bring together their resources for advanced research. The two institutes will work together on joint research projects, academic exchange programmes and training initiatives. Faculty members from both institutes will be able to collaborate on research studies and industry-supported projects. Students enrolled here will also benefit from joint supervision for postgraduate and doctoral research.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Kamal Kishore Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, and V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani. The collaboration will focus on areas such as AI, sustainable energy, decarbonisation and other emerging technologies. Experts from both institutions believe that working together will help develop innovative solutions for national and global challenges.
Opportunities for students and faculty
As part of the partnership, students and researchers will get opportunities to participate in joint workshops, seminars, courses, and academic discussions. The two institutes also plan to explore collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship activities through incubation and technology development initiatives. By combining their research infrastructure, faculty expertise, and academic networks, IIT Roorkee and BITS Pilani hope to contribute to technological progress and sustainable development.
