IIT Ropar 15th Convocation: 761 Students Graduate, UG Curriculum Revamped
IIT Ropar conferred degrees on 761 students at its 15th convocation. Along with that, a new, flexible undergraduate curriculum for 2026-27 has been announced.Â
IIT Ropar 15th Convocation: Indian Institute of Technology Ropar conferred degrees on 761 students at its 15th convocation. The ceremony highlighted institute’s academic reforms, research achievements and growing collaborations.
IIT Ropar graduating batch included students from various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. A total of 377 BTech, 177 MTech, 65 MSc students, one BSc student, one diploma student and 140 PhD students were awarded degrees during IIT Ropar convocation 2026.
IIT Ropar Revises UG Curriculum
IIT Ropar also highlighted a major overhaul of its undergraduate curriculum. It will be implemented from 2026-27 academic session. The revised structure aims to provide students with greater flexibility and more opportunities to explore areas of their interest.
Under new curriculum, students will complete their core courses by end of third year. This will allow them to use final year for electives, internships, research projects and entrepreneurship-related activities. The institute said changes are aimed at creating a more student-centric learning environment and encouraging them to gain practical and research oriented experience.
Distinguished Guests Attend Ceremony
Satyanarayan Nuwal, Founder Chairman of Solar Industries India Limited, attended IIT Ropar convocation as chief guest. Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman of IIT Ropar Board of Governors, presided over ceremony.
