Indian Army partners with DTU to Foster Innovation and National Security

The collaboration focuses on cutting-edge areas like Defence Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Cyber Security, Geoinformatics and Data Analytics
On the birthday of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, one of the most celebrated tech Savvy President of India, the Indian Army and Delhi Technological University (DTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to harness academic excellence and operational expertise to advance India’s journey toward self-reliance (AtmanirbharBharat) and drive the Nation’s Decade of Transformation.
The collaboration focuses on cutting-edge domains including:
- Defence Technology
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Robotics
- Cyber Security
- Geoinformatics
- Data Analytics
In addition to research and development, the MoU emphasizes training, soldier upskilling, and capacity building. By blending operational grit with academic rigor, the partnership seeks to build resilient, future-ready forces capable of tackling emerging security challenges.
“This collaboration is more than an MoU—it is a catalyst for innovation, national security, and India’s technological self-reliance,” said Brig A S Bains, from Indian Army. “By joining hands with DTU, we are ensuring that the next generation of defence technologies is both indigenous and world-class.”
Prof. Narendra Kumar, Registrar DTU added that Prof Prateek Sharma, Vice chancellor DTU has been guiding the University towards greater Academia- Industry interaction and expressed his firm belief that, “Our alliance with the Indian Army would allow us to apply academic insights to real-world operational challenges, fostering a synergy that would benefit both defence readiness and India’s technological ecosystem.”
