What’s Next After JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Exam 2025?
Now that the JEE Main exam is over, here’s a look at the key steps that follow and what students should prioritise:
Provisional JEE Main 2025 Answer Key Release
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for session 2 within the next few days on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Students will be able to:
- Download their answer key and response sheets
- Cross-check answers
- Raise objections (if any) by paying a nominal fee per question
This allows students to estimate their JEE Main scores and assess their chances of qualifying for JEE Advanced or securing a seat in top NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
JEE Main 2025 April Session Result
Following the final JEE Main answer key, the NTA will announce the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 results likely by the end of April 2025. The JEE Main scorecard will include:
- NTA Scores (Percentile)
- All India Rank (AIR) (for students who appeared in both sessions)
- Category-wise cut-offs for JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility
The better of the two scores from Session 1 and Session 2 will be considered for final ranking and admissions.
JEE Advanced 2025: Time to Prepare
For students aiming for IITs, this is the time to channel all efforts toward JEE Advanced 2025, scheduled to be held on May 18, 2025 (tentative). The IIT Bombay is the organizing institute this year. Top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers (including all categories) will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025. Students should now focus on strengthening advanced-level concepts, practising mock tests, and refining time management strategies.
JoSAA Counselling 2025
For those willing to get admission at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, the JoSAA 2025 counselling process will begin shortly after the JEE Advanced results are declared in June. Even if candidates are not planning to appear for JEE Advanced, participating in JoSAA is important for securing admission to centrally-funded technical institutions.
