JEE Main 2026: NTA Releases Complete Marks vs Percentile Data for Both Sessions
NTA has just released the JEE Mains 2026 marks vs percentile for both sessions. Candidates can now check the official statistics for the day-wise, shift-wise performance of students who appeared in the exam.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the detailed JEE Main 2026 marks vs percentile data for both sessions 1 and 2. Through the data, candidates can check the day-wise shift-wise performance of students. A careful analysis of the JEE Mains marks vs percentile 2026 lets us understand how raw marks are translated into percentiles across different shifts and difficulty levels.
This comes in after the announcement of JEE Main 2026 results for 15,38,468 candidates, of which 26 students secured a perfect 100 percentile. Candidates can access this JEE Main 2026 official marks vs percentile data here.
πJEE Main 2026 Marks vs Percentile
As per the official data shared by NTA, the marks required for the same percentile changes significantly depending on the difficulty level of each shift. This is due to the normalisation process used by the authorities. The JEE Mains percentile is based on the relative performance of all students in that shift rather than absolute marks. Further, the final ranks are also based on the percentile and not the actual marks. This is why some students with higher marks still get lower ranks compared to others in different shifts.
How is Percentile Calculated in JEE Mains?
The JEE Main percentile score obtained by a candidate is determined only after applying normalisation to the marks obtained by a candidate. JEE Main Percentile scores indicate the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or below that particular percentile in the examination. A percentile score is measured on a scale of 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
