The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to begin the registration process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 session 1 anytime now. Candidates who wish to appear for the engineering exam have to select the correct paper, course and session while filling out the application form. The registration dates and detailed instructions are yet to be confirmed through the official JEE Main 2027 notification.

JEE Main is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture and planning programmes. Candidates must choose the paper according to the course they want to pursue.

JEE Main 2027: How to select the correct paper in the application form?

Candidates can follow these steps when the NTA opens the JEE Main 2027 application portal. The steps are based on the previous application process and may change according to the 2027 instructions.

• Visit the official website: Open jeemain.nta.nic.in⁠ and access the JEE Main 2027 registration link once it is activated.
• Complete registration: Enter the required personal and contact details to generate the application number and login credentials.
• Fill in personal details: Provide the information required in the form and ensure that the details match the relevant official documents.
• Select the examination paper: Choose Paper 1 for BE/BTech, Paper 2A for BArch or Paper 2B for BPlanning, according to the course you intend to pursue. If you wish to apply for multiple papers, check the permitted combinations in the official bulletin.
• Choose the examination session: Review the options for Session 1 and Session 2 and select the session or sessions you wish to appear for, as permitted by the application form.
• Enter academic and category details: Fill in the Class 10 and Class 12 or qualifying examination details, along with the applicable category and other information requested.
• Upload documents: Upload the photograph, signature and other documents in the specified format and size.
• Select examination cities and language: Choose four cities and question paper medium as instructed in the application form.
• Pay the application fee: Check the fee applicable to your selected paper, category and session before completing the payment.
• Review and submit: Verify all details before final submission. Download and save the confirmation page and payment receipt for reference.

JEE Main 2027: Can candidates appear for both sessions?

Yes, the JEE Main application process is open for both sessions together. Additionally, candidates can apply for both sessions separately. The session 1 JEE Main application form will be available anytime soon. The registrations for session 2 usually open in February.
