JEE Main 2027 Registration Likely to Open in October; What Students Should Expect from Session 1
JEE Main 2027 registration is likely to begin in the last week of October 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to open the application window soon for students who want to appear for the engineering entrance exam. The exact registration date is yet to be announced.
NTA has already announced the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 exam dates. The exam will be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30, 2027, while January 31, 2027, has been kept as an additional exam date. Students should check their admit cards for their exact exam date, shift and exam centre.
JEE Main 2027 Session 1: What Should Students Expect?
JEE Main Session 1 is expected to be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will cover Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for students appearing for the BE/BTech paper.
Since the exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, students should be prepared for variations in the difficulty level of individual papers. NTA will use its normalisation process while preparing the results.
With the January exam now around the corner, students should focus on completing the remaining syllabus and increasing their revision and mock-test practice. Solving JEE Main previous year question papers can also help students understand the type of questions asked in the exam.
Focus on Time Management: Time management will be important in JEE Main 2027. Students may come across questions that involve lengthy calculations, particularly in Mathematics and Physics. Spending too much time on one question can affect the overall attempt.
Students should practise full-length mock tests and learn when to skip a difficult question and move to the next one. Regular timed practice can help improve both speed and accuracy.
Keep Documents Ready for JEE Mains Session 1 Registration 2027
Candidates should keep their Aadhaar details, recent photograph, signature, and other required documents ready before the JEE Main 2027 application form opens.
However, Aadhaar is not the only identification option. In the previous year's registration process, candidates who did not have Aadhaar or preferred not to use it could authenticate themselves using alternative government IDs. These included:
- PAN Card
- Passport
- Voter ID
Apart from that, keep these documents ready:
- Class 10 Certificate/Mark Sheet
- Scanned Photograph & Signature
- OBC-NCL/EWS Certificate Details (If needed)
- PwD/PwBD Certificate (If needed)
- Payment Details
