The exam body, Indian Maritime University (IMU) will close the IMU CET 2026 online counselling window today, June 17, 2026. Candidates who qualified in the IMU CET exam as per the results must register for the first phase of online counselling today by visiting the official website - imu.cbexams.com/IMU_AxDSite/CETAdmissionSite. 

Close to 72,000 aspirants who appeared in the entrance exam on May 24 and qualified the exam must lock in their choices by midnight tonight to secure a seat across IMU's premier campuses. The online counselling window is a critical step for students who are looking to jumpstart a career in the merchant navy.

Steps to Register for IMU CET 2026 Counselling

1. Visit the official website of IMU CET - using your registered application number and password.

2. Submit a non-refundable online fee to activate choice filling.

3. Select and arrange preferred combination of campuses (including Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Cochin, and Visakhapatnam) and courses.

4. Download and print finalized application receipt for subsequent physical verification rounds.

Following the closure of the registration window, the university will transition to seat evaluation and shortlisting.

• First Admission List is expected to be published online on June 24, 2026.

• Shortlisted candidates will have to deposit INR 30,000 to secure initial allocation.

• The physical document verification is expected to be held tentatively between June 30 and July 2, 2026, where students must present original academic and category certificates at designated campuses.

Earlier the exam body, IMU opened a counselling registration portal on June 14 following the announcement of the exam results.
